Chelsea Gardens is great for an extended stay
This is a great hotel to stay at when you want a nice room but you're short on cash and have a car (cabs will be expensive getting to town from this location).
This is an exended stay apartment/hotel (not Chelsea Towers downtown) - think upscale Residence Inn (full kitchen, large, bedroom, washer/dryer, breakfast included in rate, hardwood floors, nice furniture). The free breakfast was my favorite part - international hot buffet breakfast that changes daily. The food was good (though most was frozen/pre-prepared) and the service was very good. They serve lunch and dinner also, but you're so full from the free breakfast, you won't have to each much else. Since there is a full kitchen, you can smell other guests' food cooking in the evening. I also heard children running in the hall. There are a couple of English TV channels and there is a small gym with no TVs and a view of the traffic circle in front of the hotel.
Great extended stay hotel
The good: 1. This hotel is new and recently opened (maybe 2-3 weeks ago), so accomodations are in excellent condition and would rate superior as to comfort and amenities (large refrigerator/unstocked, oven, stove, in room wireless internet access). 2. Staff was very courteous, friendly, helpful and well trained. My challenges with this hotel: 1. Location. The hotel is not close to the airport. 2. Restaurant choices in the immediate development area are somewhat limited. 3. Taxis may not know about this hotel. Chelsea Corp would be wise to educate taxi companies as to this new hotel addition to the Chelsea family. 4. The Chelsea Gardens Apartment Hotel restaurant only serves Indian food (I prefer Western). 5. I ordered a hamburger and fries from room service. In twenty minutes the food was delivered to my room in a professional manner. The food was good, however the hamburger meat was only two inches in diameter, slightly larger than a silver dollar. If I remember correctly, the hamburger and fries cost around $20 USD, the Coca Cola cost around $10 USD.
Traveler's tip
This is a great hotel for people staying near the Knowledge Village area for business on extended stay.
